Chicken nuggets are such an easy and fun snack food to create. I love making my own because I know that they don’t contain all that processed rubbish that most shop bought nuggets have in them!

I think once you try these, you’ll never go back! Trust me…they’re worth the effort.

Prep: 10 minutes Cook: 15 minutes  Serves: 16 nuggets

  • 3 Free Range Chicken Fillets

  • 1 beaten egg

  • 1/2 cup of flour

  • 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs

  • paprika

  • chili flakes

  • cayenne pepper (optional)

  • salt

  • 2 tbsp of oil for frying *Olive/Sunflower both work well for this recipe*

  • Dice the chicken into bite size pieces and leave to one side.

  • Set up three bowls, one with the beaten egg, one with flour and one with the breadcrumbs

  •  Add as much spicy seasoning and salt as you like to the flour bowl. I added about one tsp of each and a good pinch of himalayan salt.

  • Dip each chicken piece into the egg (let excess drip off), then flour and lastly the breadcrumbs and repeat. You may need to add extra flour/breadcrumbs along the way.

  • Heat your oil in a large frying pan and add the nuggets when the oil is hot. Cook for about 15 minutes, turning every so often. Test one of the largest nuggets after 15 minutes to make sure they are properly cooked though and Bon Appétit my friends.
